This is our Christmas Tree this year. Isn't it beautiful? We have always had a fake tree but this year we bought a real one. The boys love it and Alex says it smells so fresh. Personally I can't smell it but who am I to burst their bubble? LOL
We weren't going to put a tree up this year because we will be out of town but we decided the kids needed one. We didn't put one up last year because we were out of town. It sure has helped get us all in the holiday spirit. Luci even hung lights out on the porch, it looks so festive.

Been thinking about how I am going to decorate and I really like these rooms.

Highs and lows

Saturday had it's highs and lows.
High point: Mom came home and we shopped for Luci a Father's Day present. (because he is the best father:)
Low point: While shopping Luci called to let me know his grandmother had died. It is a time of sadness for his entire family.
High point: I cropped Saturday night. It was great to hang out and relax.
Low point: I can't seem to shake this anxiety I've been feeling about starting school on Monday. I guess the only thing to do is meet it head on. So tomorrow morning I will be at FGCU bright and early for my first class.

While up north I didn't really do much scrapping or creating. I worried a little about how my mojo would be once I got back, but it seems like I never left. Life continues on.

I can't believe that I haven't posted in almost 2 years. WOW!
Well we are back in Fort Myers and so much happier. I think we have learned our lesson. I can't see us leaving here again for a long time. I didn't realize just how much I would miss my mom. I have for the greater part of my life lived no more then 10 minutes from her. Family is so important.
While in north Florida I attended and graduated from Chipola College with my AA in psychology. I am now enrolled in Florida Gulf Coast University where I plan to pursue my BA and MA in psychology. I didn't realize how much I would love and enjoy attending school.
The boys are happier here. They have so many friends and family they can depend on to help them escape from their mom and dad. LOL
Luci is glad to be back as well. He found a job, he has a way of finding work when there should be none. You can never call him a slacker. Love him.
Life is getting back on track and we will be better then ever!

... I have been away for a while, busy getting the house set up, working a almost full time job, and getting registered for school for this fall. Yep you heard right, not only are the boys starting school this fall but so am I. EEKKK! So scary. I have no clue what I want to be when I grow up, so how do I know what classes to take, what major to pursue? Maybe I will become a lifetime student. LOL I will be back soon, I have made a few pages, I will photograph them soon and show you what I have been up to.

we will begin packing the truck to leave, once that is done we will be heading to my Mom's to spend the night and spend some more time together. Monday morning we will get up super early (grrr) and head out. The good thing is that we will be moving to central time zone, so we will be gaining an hour. We should make it there between 1pm and 2pm central time. I may be off the blog for a couple of weeks while we get settled in but never fear, I will be back. Wish us luck and send a prayer up for us.

We had a really nice weekend! Thinking back over the last few days it seems like we did so much in just a small amount of time but I don't ever remember feeling rushed or tired. Now when we got home I slept about 18 hours but all in all it was a great weekend. I have loads of photos to show but I will do that later. I wanted to post these LOs that I have done. Some of them were recently done and some are a little older.

Today I am leaving to go to my Granddaddy's house in Plant City, it is just a stop along the way. I will be going to my Family Reunion on my Mom's side in Sopchoppy. It is a town so small that if you blink while going threw it, you'll miss everything. LOL I haven't been to a reunion in years and I am very excited. There are a few people going that I haven't seen since I was very young. Then on Sunday we are driving to my Dad's house (about 1 1/2 hours away) to see him and drop the kids off. WHAA WHOO!!!! Then it is back home to finish packing up the house for the move.
I will be sure to take loads of photos to scrap.

As most people know, I am not a big fan of SW Florida. I have never really been a beach person, give me a nice clean pool or water park and I am happy. I hate the congestion of the city and it seems every year it gets worse and worse. The economy is really bad right now, you are never safe, everyone has the risk of losing their job right now. I honestly think the only good thing about SW Florida (to me) is that my family and friends are here.
So that being said Luci and I have decided to move to North Florida. I know we went to North Carolina and we all know how that ended, um yeah we are back in SW FL. We have done our research on the county we will be living in, checked out the area and schools. Map Quested the scrapbook stores in the area. LOL It is small town life at it's best. We will be about 45 minutes west of Tallahassee, I don't know if you have ever been there or not but is is beautiful. When I was little we lived about 45 minutes south of Tallahassee and it was awesome. There are SEASONS!!! No snow, but there is a definite Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
I want to get my kids away from all the violence & gang activity. I want them to go to schools that do not condone promiscuity and homosexuality. I don't want to worry about someone trying to sell them drugs or hurting them if they go outside to play. I know it is everywhere and you can't escape it but I can get them away from the city where is is so common.
Luci and I have already found jobs and my Dad (he is doing much better by the way) and Arlene (whose a teacher) will be keeping the kids while we work. As soon as we are stable and get settled I will cut back to part time and be home with the kids. We will be pulling out on July 6th.
I told my Mom and Step Dad today that we are for sure moving, they knew but we hadn't 100% confirmed it. They took fairly well. My Step Dad is really close with my boys and he is having a little bit of a hard time with it but it will bring them up more often to visit (my moms family lives about 1 hour from where we will be). Wow! I am so honored today. Graphic 45 has chosen me to be highlight on their blog. How awesome is this? I love their patterned papers and the vintage feel to them. I never really got into vintage until I started going to my LSS Strawberry Fields. When I saw the paper I had to have one of them all and Pam is set up to receive all the newest releases, so we never have to worry about missing out on any.

My Baby is 5!!!

I can't believe how big he is getting. Seems like yesterday he was tiny and in my arms. He is still sweet. He does this little thing that is so cute. When I give him a kiss he wipes his mouth and pretends that he is putting the kiss in his pocket, then he tells me he is saving it for later. Yesterday he asked me why the clouds were following him, I told him I didn't know why, he said cause he was cool and they wanted his autograph. LOL What a stinker. Here is a photo of him and his brothers at his Birthday Party! When I scrap this one, I will call it " The Lollipop Gang".

Updated: One of the requirements for the cards are that they have no glitter on them. If the glitter gets on the soldiers it could lead to a compromising situation.

I always want to do so much more then I am capable of doing. It always seems like something gets in the way. I stumbled on this web site about a week ago and thought, there it is, this is what I can do. My niche. The military is looking for blank cards to send to the troops, so that they can turn around and send them back to there family. I love to make cards, so much that I have a box full of them sitting here. My goal is to send off a filled flat rate box by the end of summer. The cool thing is that they supply the envelops, as long as it is a A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 finished). To get it started I used the scraps from my SSS June kit to make these 3 cards, I also used from my stash as well. If you are reading this right now please pause for a moment and send a prayer up for my Dad. Friday he went to work and fell into the bay, about 6 feet. He broke his pelvic bone in 2 places. Usually with a pelvic brake you must have rehab and it is very painful. My prayer to God is that he will be mended so quickly that it will astonish the doctors and no rehab will be required.
When I talked to him last he was joking that my stepmother, Arlene, got to have the summer off because she is a teacher and he was jealous, so he found a way to have the summer off as well. I told him no such luck, we had already prayed for him and are believing he will go home fully recovered by the middle of next week.
If God hears the smallest of prayers, just imagine what a multitude of prayers can do. Thank you so much for taking the time to pray for my Dad. BTW his name is Mike.

I took this little dress to Strawberry Fields Scrapbook Shop and we had such an overwhelming response and questions about if we were going to have a class that we have put one together for you. I had to change a couple of the trims to what is in stock but the overall feel is still the same. It will be on May 26th @ 6:30pm down at Strawberry Fields. While I was over at Strawberry Fields hanging with Pam yesterday, I pulled down a few of my LOs that I had done with the Graphic 45. I love the vintage feel to these papers and Pam sells them the cheapest in town. At the bottom is a necklace I made for the manikin, I just thought she looked so naked and needed something to dress her up. I covered scrabble tiles with G45 paper and used UTEE and my drill. TFL.

Well today is the day, I am now 28. I anticipate a great day. I woke up to my wonderful husband planting a smacker on me and telling me Happy Birthday as he ran out the door. He left me a Birthday message on my mirror. We write each other with a dry erase marker on the mirror, just to let the other know that we are thinking of them. It's cleaner then lipstick. LOL
Later I am going to have lunch with my Mom (heart my MOM) and then head down to Strawberry Fields to hang with Pam this afternoon. Tonight we will head for Church and then home to snuggle up and watch the other half of American Idol.
This weekend we are all going to go out as a family, so the celebration will continue. LOL I did say I was having a birthday week.

Can you believe that my baby boy is turning five at the end of May? I can't believe how the time flies. He will be starting school in the fall. What will I do with myself with all the kids in school now? LOL I will have a cleaner house, until they get home. So we took a trip to the party store and this is what he picked out for his birthday. He loves Curious George, when I go anywhere he always tells me to be a good little monkey. I thought he would have choose something more violent. Like transformers, army, or even pirates because lets face it, with 3 older boys in the house and a Daddy who likes to wrestle he is a little on the violent side. LOL It will be nice to have somewhat of a normal age appropriate theme this year.

Cup Cake Birthday Card

I made this card with the Kaiser, Sugar Sugar collection for Pam at Strawberry Fields. I used a Prima flower, MM trim, & clear sugar glitter. It was such a fun little card to make, I free hand cut it and folded the bottom to look like a cup cake paper. On the inside I cut out a cup cake from the PP and stickled it a little bit and pop dotted it out. TFL

What a great time we had at Epcot together. We met a lot of the characters, ate a lot of food and just had a relaxing day. I decided to wear a dress, I never wear dresses except to church. We got inside the gate and I looked at Luci and said no one is laughing a pointing at me. LOL He said why would they? He is such a guy. We just kind of went at our own pace and just really enjoyed our time together. Here are some photos of our trip.

Luci and I are off for a mini vacations by ourselves. Yep you heard it right we have shipped the kids and the dog to various people and are about to leave for our weekend away. I am super excited. We are going to Epcot! See you when we get back.

This weekend was fun filled and jam packed with things to do. Saturday we had a work day at the church followed by a bar b q and then the egg hunt. Saturday evening we went to Applebee's and then back home to have a movie night. We watched Marley and Me, it was really good but kind of sad. Sunday we all got up and got our Easter clothes on and headed off to church. After church we went over to my Mom's for dinner. My brothers and their families came as well. We all actually got along and there was no fighting. This is a big deal in my family, we never ALL get together without at least one argument. Mark it down as a milestone. Here is a LO that I did for Strawberry Fields, can you believe I took the photo before I handed it over? Another milestone. LOL
This is Lucas when we went on our camping trip. He looks so happy here, but then again he is always happy. I used the new Fancy Pants Paper and overlay, new Prima flowers, bazzill flowers, stickles, Kaisers rhinestones and some odds and ends from my stash. Easter Egg Fun!!!

Today we had an Egg Hunt at our church. The kids had so much fun. Who ever brought the most guest won a big bucket of change and our kids had the most guests. They were super excited and can't wait to count it all. Here are a few photos of the day. The first is Nicholas and Lucas running to find their eggs. The one of Luci is to showcase his name tag, we couldn't decided what age he was so we gave him an age group. LOL Alex won a prize basket for his age group, it was pink but pink candy tastes as good as any other. He didn't care, he has decided that he is going to use the pink basket to hunt eggs at his grandma's tomorrow. LOL

Here are the LOs that I created with the SSS April kit. This was such a versatile kit, great for boys and girls. The first LO that I created was a photo the we had taken during our family photo shoot. I used galaxy markers from my stash to color in some of the paper.
Here is another photo from our photo shoot, one that I will always treasure, it is very rare that Luci and I are both in a photo together and I just loved the circle cut paper from the kit to showcase it.
When I got my new laptop, Luci took a photo to help me to remember the joy that I felt when he bought it for me. Love that man and love that he is always trying to make me happy.
The paper was so fun to use and create with, I can't believe how fast my LOs came together and how easy this kit was to use. TFL.

I can't wait until April 17Th, me and my honey bunches are off to Epcot at Disney World. I have already booked the hotel and for me that means we are going. I usually don't book the hotel until I am definite that we are going and if would take a catastrophe to make us stay home now. I am super excited because is will be just me and Luci going and we will get to have a fun weekend to ourselves. He has never been to Epcot but I have and I can't wait to share it with him.

Camping Spring 2009

So we made it through our camping trip and came out ok. It was fun, the first night was really cold but we snuggled up, like you are supposed to on a camping trip. Here are a few photos from the trip, the first two are of Luci and Alex rowing in the canoe. Alex was being a big helper, I think he was slowing us down more then moving us along, but that is alright, he had fun.

This was a friend we met along the way, Luci asked if I wanted to get closer, for a better photo and I told him that the one I had was just fine. LOL We saw a lot of gators this time, I think because the water is so low right now.

Here a couple of Nicholas, Lucas, Josh and their friend Dalton in their canoe. They had so much fun, the bast part was that there was no fighting. Music to a mom's ears. LOL

Does she have him wrapped around her little paw or what? I was giving her a bath last night and I got her out, wrapped her in a towel and started to dry her. He walked in and took her, said she liked to be blow dried and grabbed my dryer and started drying her hair. I thought this was so funny, my big brown man blow drying a little puppy. I had to grab the camera and take a photo. Who knew he had a secret passion for styling dogs? LOL

New Basic Grey

Here is a LO I created last night with the new Basic Grey, Porcelain, for Pam at Strawberry Fields . I just love the soft colors. I also used a Tim Holtz stamp, I mixed heat flocking powder with fine green glitter to get the desired effect. I made the flowers from some ribbon that I had in my stash. TFL.

Here is our new girl. Isn't she adorable? She is such a sweetie. She follows me around and plops down wherever I am and is content to just be in the same room. She loves Luci and the boys, they keep her entertained. The good part is that the boys fight over who is going to take her out to go potty. Usually they take her out in the afternoon when I get home and play and have a good time, by the time they come in everyone is tuckered out.

I am getting a new baby and she is coming today. I can't wait. Luci is going by on his way home from work to pick her up. I know that she is going to be a wonderful addition to our family. I have always wanted a girl and I am now finally going to get one. She is 12 weeks old, energetic and has beautiful curly hair. I am naming her Daisy and she has cute freckles on her nose. Check back tomorrow for a photo.

New Do!!!

I always cut and color my own hair (GASP!). About 2 weeks ago my boss, Sarah, told me to not do anything to my hair, she said she was going to pay to have it done. She said she felt bad that she couldn't pay me more and she was going to take me and get my hair done. Her friend Lisa is a licensed beautician and let me tell you that she works miracles. I went in there and told her she could do what ever she wanted and so she mixed up her potion in the little bowl and got out her magic scissors and went to work. I am thrilled with the end result. The photo doesn't really show the whole cut, it is stacked in the back and gets longer as it comes forward. Don't look to close, I don't have any makeup on :)

I have been wanting a Canon Rebel for quite some time now and I finally got one. I was playing around with it last night and it takes such good photos, they are all crisp and clear. Luci wanted to get a photo of me with the camera so I could scrap it (is he beginning to think like a scrapper or what LOL) So he grabbed the old camera and started a photo shoot of me with the new camera. Now all I have to do is learn how to use it.

What do you think of the new music player that I added? I just love to listen to music and so I thought why not add it to my blog. The 2nd song on the player is mine and Luci's "song". The very first time I heard it I called him up and told him that I had found our song, it says everything we feel about each other and is perfect. I hope you like the music I chose.

Here are a few sneaks from the main kit at Scrap N Supply Shack that I promised to show you. Can you tell I like the butterflies? I love to make them pop off the page like they are going to fly away. I should have the full reveal up on Monday or Tuesday of next week, so check back to see.

Altered House

I wanted to share this little house that I made with you. Isn't it cute? I used sassafrass paper and a few different scraps of lace that I had. With the scraps I made a few little note cards to put inside the house.
Do you enjoy making altered projects? I do but I rarely keep them. Most of the time I give them away. This little creation is already gone. I gave it to Susan at the crop Saturday. She seemed to love it, so I told her it was hers to take. I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Mojo Flowing

Here are a few LOs that I have done in the past little while. The first 2 I did Friday night at the crop at Strawberry Fields and the last one was one that I did a while ago for DT work. Every year Babcock Ranch has a skeet shoot to see who is the best shot. Of coarse he wins most years and this year he didn't let me down. So proud of him, this is a shot that I took just after he won the shoot. I think he is just such a sexy man. Love him.

This is a LO I did of Nicholas and Lucas. The photo was taken on Christmas day. The boys had got a nerf tag gun set thingamajig. I just love that they are not afraid to put on all the gear and go out and play innocent war, just like little boys should.This is my absolute favorite LO that I have done in a long time. This is Alex on Thanksgiving Day and I titled it "a moment in time" because he is not often his soft and sweet anymore. I can't believe how fast my boy is growing up.

I thought I would share a few things I have been working on for my Strawberry Fields DT work. TFL
This first is a mini I did for Luci (love that man so much). I used Cosmo Cricket. It is just a simple little mini but I sure had fun making it.
This is a LO of Alex when he caught his first fish all by himself. I think he is going to be a lot like his Dad and really love fishing. This is a LO I did of Luci from this past weekend. I was sitting in a chair and I leaned back to look at him and snapped this photo. I just loved the way it looked so much that I had to scrap it.

Strawberry Fields is having a monthly Basic Grey class and it started last night. The class kit is loaded with product and there was plenty left over to take home (cause we all love to hoard). This month was about favorites, I chose to spotlight my oldest son, Nicholas, and what his favorites are right now. Check it out.

Each month a different designer will be teaching the class and EEK, next month is my turn. I have never taught a class before but I watched last night and it doesn't look so hard. Wish me luck.

Brand New Basic Grey

Today Pam (the owner of Strawberry Fields) was doing inventory of her store, have I mentioned how much I love her store? Well as my show of gratitude for her having such a great place to meet and crop, I went over to help her get it done. Did we get it done? Nope, but when I left tonight she was almost there. So while I was there the brown man came by, no not my husband, it was the UPS man with a huge order from American Crafts and Basic Grey. I just fell in love with the brand new Basic Grey Bittersweet line on site and she let me purchase some before it even hit the shelves. Here are the papers I chose to buy (with my DT discount;). Wait until you hear the names, they are so yummy you will want to eat them up.

Strawberry Fields Crop

I went to a crop on Saturday at Strawberry Fields Scrapbook Shop and I had a blast. It was great to see everyone and decompress after the Christmas marathon. Here are a few LOs I created at the crop. The first LO I created using stuff that my good friend Lisa gave me for Christmas. She is so awesome, she showed up to my work with a pizza box full products and told me she wanted to see LO using the stuff. LOL Well here you go Lisa, one of many to come. Hope you like it.

This is a photo of Luci on Christmas day, I just loved this photo because it captures his true spirit. He is always a happy person and can always lift me out of a bad mood. I sure do love this guy.

Gifts of Christmas

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. This is the greatest time of year. Everyone is a little nicer and more friendly. The hustle and bustle of getting everything just perfect. It is the time of year that you remember what is important. What is the most important and often forgotten in the crazy madness is that it is Jesus Christ's birthday. What an awesome gift. I hope that everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas this year and has a safe and happy holiday.

I made this frame for my Grandma. I got it over the summer at Micheal's for about $1. Grandparents are so hard to buy for, they already have everything. LOL So in the first frame it is a photo of my mom and her brother, the second photo is of my brothers and me and the third photo is of my kids that I took this year to send out in my Christmas cards. I used crackle paint and ink, prima flowers, lace and burlap and to honor my friend Rachel over in England, what project is complete without some ric rac?

Time is Flying

I can't believe how close we are to Christmas. I have got all my shopping done (got the boys a Wii) all I have to do now is wrap EVERYTHING!!! I don't mind wrapping one or two gifts but when you have to wrap all of Christmas it is a little bit overwhelming. Maybe I will enlist the help of my Mom. She is a great wrapper. Right now I have there presents hidden in my laundry hamper and then there is a box setting on top of it full of stuff. If they only knew that they walk right by it all day. LOL And where is my dirty laundry you might ask? I have started putting it into their laundry hamper in the bathroom. You would think it would click in their little minds, but it doesn't. I guess they want to believe so bad that they ignore simple clues. LOL Oh to be young again.
Tonight we are having our church prayer group over for prayer and a party. Any reason to have a party right and why not with the people who remember you when they are in prayer. I take that as the highest complement, when someone has remember me in their prayers. With all the problems in the world today, there is a lot more someone could be praying about then me and my family. Anyhow, I am cleaning and cooking and baking to prepare for tonight. We are having cookies and punch and meatballs and a fruit platter. A cake and chips, I could go on and on. Are you going to any good parties over the holidays? I have a few more that I have to still attend. I will post photos of the events in a few days.
I guess break time is over, back to work.

I entered a few LOs (ok like 6, lol) and the current design team voted on who they thought would be the best candidate and I WON!!! Hurray. I can't wait to get started.

December Kit at SSS

I was blown away by the kit this month at the Scrap N Supply Shack. I just loved the red foil thickers. Who doesn't love thickers? So I thought that I would share what I created with the kit.

This is Alex on Christmas morning 2007. He got a guitar and couldn't wait to play it.
On this page I created a distressed tree using 2 patterned papers and sewing around each piece. This is Lucas on Christmas of 2007 as well.
I have always wanted to make an advent calender and I finally got my chance. Everything I used was in the kit except the sled, paint, ink and nail.
At SSS they are starting a new card kit. I created these 4 cards using 1/2 of the kit. I had such fun making them.
I followed a Japanese book binding tutorial to create this fun book. Everything was in the kit except for the chipboard that I covered to make the front and back covers of the book.

I just wanted to pop in for a quick note to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoy your holiday and eat as much as humanly possible.
We were going to go out to eat and skip the preparation and clean up, but we had some family invite us over to eat, so we are heading over to eat with them.
Friday I am going to get up and head down to Strawberry Fields Scrapbook Store to hit her black Friday sale. I am so excited to get there and spend spend spend. She is such a sweet lady, I asked her if she had any of the lollipop flowers from Prima a couple of weeks ago and she didn't so she ordered some up and they came in yesterday. I can't wait to get down there and get them, but I have to wait until Friday. At some point I am going to go and find a Wii. And through all that I have to work 10 -6. But that is alright. More scrapping money.

Strawberry Fields Fall Frolic Crop

I had such a blast at the crop. Pam (the owner) really knows how to throw a party. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We did a progressive card and she gave out Strawberry Bucks to use in the store. I won a word game and there was tons and tons of yummy food.

This is the name tag that I made, we got Strawberry Bucks for making these as well.

This is my happy page about Lucas. I used Bo Bunny paper on this one.

Here is one I did about Alex, I used some old stash and parts of the AMM kit.
Alex again, we went to a little Fall Festival and he got to dig through the hay to find prizes. This is a page I did for Nicholas. I used a hambly transparency as my base page, it is hard to tell in this photo that it is a grid pattern on a clear transparency. I will try to get a better photo of this .

LSS Crop

Today I am off to a crop at the LSS called Strawberry Fields. I have been looking forward to this crop all week. The owner is such a warm and friendly person and makes everyone feel right at home. The theme of this crop is Fall Frolic. We are all to bring a dish and she will provide drinks (non alcoholic) and desert. I am sure I will get loads done and I can't wait to share my LOs with everyone. Check back soon.

Double Blessed in one week!!!!

My current reading selection is a book called The Prayer of Jabez. It is a 31 day devotional by Bruce Wilkinson.
In the bible, in 1 Chronicles is all the begets. A bunch of lineage stuff. REALLY boring. In the middle of all that it stops for 2 verses and there is a man named Jabez, who by all accounts wasn't so important in the grand scheme of things. His name actually means pain. He should have been overlooked and carried on with the begetting. It was what he asked God for and how he asked him that got him recognition in the Bible. Here is a quote from the book.

The story of a man who started out with almost nothing but gloomy prospects, cried out a simple prayer, and ended up a man of honor in the eyes of God.
Now Jabez was more honorable then his brothers and his mother called his name Jabez saying, "because I bore him in pain." And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying "Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.

The devotional is about opening yourself up to ask and receive all of Gods blessings. When you become a Christian, a Child of God, you automatically receive blessings. Almost like you have rights as an American, you have rights as a Christian. You know that you have the blessing (right) of forgiveness from the Father. You have the blessing (right) to ask God to provide all of your needs.
This book is about understanding that God wants to shower you with blessings that you WANT, not just need. Like a child having everything he needs food, shelter, clothes, a bed but will still come to you and tell you he wants a toy or a treat. God wants to give us our toys and treats as well. If you want a new car, lower house payment, a new computer. ASK! All he can do is say no, like any parent.
So I wake up every morning and I pray and ask God to shower me with blessing throughout the day. I tell him that I am open to receive them.
Tuesday, I went to pay a bill. I wasn't past due but somehow the guy had did something in the computer wrong and it was saying I was. So I went in to straighten it out and go ahead and pay it. My next payment of $99 wasn't due until December 1st. I was standing there with my money $52.47 and I told him I had it and that I was paying it and that I would pay the other $99 on the 1st. So he is pulling everything up on the computer and getting ready to take my money when the lady next to me hands me a $100 bill. I just kind of looked at her funny. I didn't know what to think. She told me to take it and pay it so I would be payed up until January 1st. I told her no, I couldn't take her money. I told her that I could pay it, it wasn't a problem. She said no, I want you to take the money, God has blessed me and I want to bless you. I have never had anything like this happen to me. I took the money and I gave her a big hug and a big God bless you and a big Thank You. I left all misty eyed.
That same day my boss was having a Gold Party. It is where you take in your junk gold. Broken bracelets and stuff like that. I had a little, a very little. Most of my stuff is sentimental, stuff Luci has given me. But I had a few things that was broken or I had bought and didn't want anymore. So I took it to her and she told me that she would give it to the lady and would have a check for me the next day. So I talked to her on Wednesday morning and she said that the lady had dropped off my check and it was $40. I said alright, that is about what I expected. I really hadn't given her very much. So I went into work later and she said she has a surprise for me and then she told me that she had lied and she handed me my check. It was for $175. I almost fell over.
I want to get the kids a Wii for Christmas and I didn't know where I was going to get the money and right there in 2 days I had all I needed. God is so good. So he is blessing me or my kids have been praying for a Wii and he answered their prayers. LOL
If you haven't read this book give it a try, it will truly bless you.

Wedding Layout, 10 years in the making

10 Years and Still Going Strong!!!

Friday was Luci and my 10th anniversary. I can't believe how time has flown by. We have had such a wonderful marriage. I couldn't have asked for a better man. He is my best friend and I can't say enough good things about him. We argue and bicker sometimes but not very often and it rarely escalates to a full fledged fight. I wouldn't trade him for anything. I have to say that I am fairly proud of us. In this day and age a divorce cost less then a couch, or bed , or a designer handbag. We have always be a team, we have always had each others back.
So to celebrate we had a small party. As a rule of thumb, you are supposed to invite 2x as many people to a party as you want to be there. I didn't go that far but I did invite a few more then I anticipated coming. I wanted everyone there but most of the time something always comes up and a few people can't make it. Not this time. Just about everyone that we invited showed up to the party. It was awesome, I feel so blessed that everyone wanted to celebrate this great day with us. Here are a few photos.
I took some of the photos from our wedding and had them printed in a sepia tone and placed them on the table, we had our original cake topper and knife set.

Christmas is Coming!!!!!!

Can you believe that Christmas is only 52 days away? What have you done to get started?
At this point I have done very little. I have a box of gifts that I have been buying for a while now. It is stuff that I found on clearance. Like a Star Wars Lego set, regular about $40, got it for $10. My kids love legos and they really love star wars legos. I also got a bunch of stuff from Micheal's that was 90% off. It was in June or July that they had a huge home decor clearance. I went to a Close to my Heart card party and made 10 cards. Other then that, not to much.
So I have decided to Challenge myself, I want to make 2 cards a day for the next 30 days. Does anyone want to do the challenge with me? Or maybe you can make your own personal challenge, you may not need 60 cards like I do. I will keep you updated on my progress and I hope that you will keep me updated on yours.

Couple to Share

I can't tell you how long I have been waiting for this day, when the boys can start helping with the laundry. It is a monumental day. When you live with 5 guys the laundry is never ending and to finally have a little help, it is awesome. So I had to scrap this milestone. This is Nicholas switching the laundry for me.
I posted this photo of Lucas on here a while back and I thought, it is time to get it off the memory disk and get it scrapped. I love this photo, it shows his personality so perfectly. He is such a good looking boy, I know we are going to have to beat the girls off.

Why do you faith book?

I mentioned in an earlier post that Faith Sisters was having a birthday crop. Here are a few LOs I did for the crop. One was to scrap an event from the last 3 months. I still had not scrapped the first day of school so I chose those photos for this challenge.

Seasonal colors, widgets, and talking.

Do you like my seasonal colors I put up on my blog? Who says that you have to have the same colors all year long? When you use the templates that blogger gives you, you can change them all the time. Be ware of useing other templates, they will make you loose your widgets. LOL You may be thinking, what is a widget? I just love that word, it is so fun, don't know why. Anyhow, your widgets are the links you have saved and pictures and gadgets you have put onto your blog. Make sure that if you use a non-blogger template you save all your links to your favorites or bookmarks. Trust me on that one, been there and didn't do it. Learn from my mistakes. LOL

On a different note, I just have to share with you something that my youngest son said to me. He is such a funny little kid.
He was running around the island in the kitchen. Around and around, talking a mile a minute. I asked him if he could be quiet for a few minutes.
Remember he is 4.
He says NOPE. I can't keep my mouth shut and you wanna know why.
So of coarse I asked "WHY?"
He says, because my name is Alex I and I like to talk. LOL
I look at my husband and we both burst out laughing at that same time. What else could I say then " Ok, contiune on"?
And so he did, running around and around, talking and talking about nothing at all.
Sometimes I feel like that is all I do too, run around and around, talking about nothing. When I catch little moments like this it brings it all back in focus.

New Little Toy

I got a islice, it is so neat. It is to cut wrapping paper and we all know that the little gismos never work, they snag the paper or make it rip. This works different, it just glides right over top of the paper and cuts it like your trimmer cuts your scrapbook paper and because it is a ceramic blade it won't cut you and never gets dull. I think it will be great for the kids. I tried it to see if it would cut me and I turned it every which way and it wouldn't cut me. It is also magnetic, so I can hang it on the fridge and not worry about it getting lost in the dreaded junk drawer. I think it is my new favorite thing right now. LOL

Favorite Bible Story

A Few Cards

Made a few cards today and I thought I would share. I love making cards to send out to people. Some people feel like handmade cards are not appreciated enough for the effort but I strongly disagree. If I can make someone feel even the smallest bit special because I sent them a handmade it is worth the effort. I have rarely sent someone a card and not had them thank me or recognize it as handmade. I also love making them because I can use up a lot of my scraps. The only paper I ever use, besides the base of the card, are scraps. Makes me feel like I am being cost efficient. LOL Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Restore My Soul

Here is what I created for my first official challenge over at Faith Sisters. The challenge was to create something using the scripture from Psalms 23 2-3. When I read the scripture the passage that said "he leads me beside still waters" jumped out at me. I have a lot of trouble going to sleep at night, I have trouble shutting everything off in my head. LOL So I decided to make this journal to write my worries in and hand it all over to God. He can handle anything and only wants us to ask for his help. This helps me to have the "still waters". I submitted to be on Scrap N Supply Shack's design team and they chose me. I am supper excited, they are just starting out with the monthly kits but from what I have seen they are going to take off fast. The chosen a wonderful group of ladies to be on the design team and I can't wait to get to know everyone. Here is the kit for August and September, sadly I won't be designing with these kits. Genesis is growing up in a rural community that spans the plains and the higher elevations of the Nahuelbuta Mountains. Housing is diverse. Some are regular housing units with dirt floors while others are simple lean-to dwellings. Beans, potatoes, vegetables and wheat tortillas comprise the family diet. Meat is very scarce. The weather is temperate and humid, with rain from March to December.

Genesis is not in school at this time. She likes to play with dolls. She helps at home by running errands. She is in satisfactory health.

Bags Of Hope

Over the summer I made some journals for the Bags of Hope Ministry, I met a lady named Ellen online who is really involved with them. So I made up a few journals and sent them out to her. Recently they started a web site and to my surprise they put photos of mine and a few other journals on the web site. It made me feel like a celebrity for a minute. LOL I plan to make more in the next few months and ship them out to her. They are based in Texas but I just start filling a flat rate box and ship when it gets full. They have needs for other things as well, shampoo, handmade bags, toothpaste & brush etc.If you want to help, email me H2bigblueeyes@yahoo.com and I can give you Ellen's address ( after she says OK) LOL. Things Are Changing

Today to church our Pastor resigned. We all knew it was coming, he has told us it was coming. It was still a shock. We will miss him greatly but he is staying in the area and I'm sure he will be by to visit from time to time.
Today we had the elections for the ladies offices. For the past few years we have had the same officers, and they did a great job. But they decided that they were ready to hand it over and so new officers were voted in. My mom, Kaye, was voted in as President, Go Mom!!!! and Sis. Milissa was voted in as the Sec/Treasurer and your truly was voted in as the Vice President. I am so excited. I have a million ideas, our church has been in limbo for a while and we think it is time to wake up and get moving again.
So keep the church in your thoughts and prayers, that we have a smooth transition with our new pastor and that the ladies group is successful.
Finally, today was my oldest son Nicholas' birthday. He turned 10 years old today. I can't believe how time has flown by. He is all grown up now with his quirky thoughts and ideas. We took him out to Red Lobster for his birthday, cause it's his favorite. My Mom and Stepdad were there along with some friends. They came out and sang with the cake and everything. We all had a great time and I think he did to. I love that boy.
