My New/Old Chair

I found this chair at a consignment store for $20 and I just loved the shape of it and the way it curves. So I bought it and brought it home and asked Luci if he could do anything to make it look better. I never dreamed he would make it look so good. He spent and entire day sanding it down, he used an electric sander and he hand sanded then little nooks and crannies. When it was all done I went to the craft store and bought the fabric and recovered the seat and now I have a beautiful chair.
He loves working with his hands and creating things, especially if he is working with wood. I think he could do stuff like this all day long and not get bored. Not me, I sand for a little while and get bored with it and hand it over to him and tell him I am taking a break. I don't know if he has caught on the I never come back from my breaks. LOL

Home at Last

The kids came home a few days early. In the past this would have mess with my plans or invaded my time of being alone. Not this time, I guess as I have got older it doesn't matter as much that I have so much time alone. They aren't as needy as they used to be and I don't feel like they demand as much. They are good boys, they have there moments when you feel a little overwhelmed, there are 4 of them. Like when they all want something at the same time and you don't know where to start. LOL Most of the time they listen and follow instructions. Now that 3 of the 4 can read it makes life so much easier. I just make a list of what I want them to do and they do it. This way they don't forget something and I don't have to keep telling them what to do. They also feel like they are accomplishing something every time they can mark something off. Something about putting the line through a task on paper makes you have a little more pap in your step. It also shows them that there is an end in sight. All they have to do is what is on the list and then they are free to do what they want. Within reason. I am so glad to have them home. I guess I am not as tough without them as I thought.

I'm Free

On Sunday my sister in law asked if ALL the kids could come over for the week. All thoughts flew out of my head and I started packing. I didn't remember that Josh was supposed to cut grass or that Steph has VBS at her church this week or that Saturday is a birthday party. I just packed them up and sent them on there way. The thought of having a whole week to my self is like heaven. I plan to finish up the arrangements for the VBS at our church and do a lot of scrapping. Yesterday I cleaned the whole house and did all the laundry so that I wouldn't have to worry about any of that until they get home. I am going to pick them up on Friday so they can go to the birthday party on Saturday but not a moment sooner. I know that most Mothers can't be without there children for that long but I guess because I don't work and I have them all the time that it doesn't bother me at much. I totally trust my Sister in law and Brother to keep them safe so I have a stress free and worry free week. Now as the week passes I will start to miss them more and more. Especially the little guy. What would you do if someone offered to take your children for a week? Do you think you could handle it?

Bubble Wrap

We went to the store to look at a new mouse for our desktop. Our old one had finally given up on us. Don't ever take me to a office supply store, next to a scrapbook store it is my favorite thing to look at. I love all the organizational stuff. While there, we walked by the rolls of bubble wrap and Luci said that he was going to get some for the kids to play with. He said that if got it for them he would be the coolest Dad ever. What kid (or adult ) doesn't like to pop the bubbles in bubble wrap. So we got some, he wasn't satisfied with the 25 foot roll, no he had to get the 200 foot roll. Heaven help me.
As we made our way around the store, our arms are getting tired because we didn't get a buggy, we were only supposed to be getting a mouse remember? We came to the laptops. I have been wanting one for a while now but we have the desk top and it didn't seem like something that we needed at the time. We were looking at them and of coarse they are all on sale and I found one that I loved, it's a Dell and it has tons of memory space and while it is small, it is not tiny. I wanted one that would be easy to carry with me when I meet the girls at our lunch spot (they have wifi in there). I thought I would have to wait a few months to save up the money for it, but my dear sweet husband told the man we would take it and he got me the pink mouse and router to go with it. I also got the 2 year warranty, it covers everything, even if I leave it on the car and drive down the road and smash it into a million pieces. Sounds crazy? Not if you knew me. LOL All I have to do it take in the pieces and they will give me a new one. I even named it "Blue". Love it and love the husband.

So we get home and I brought in all the purchases except the bubble wrap. I told the kids that there Dad had bought them something and that they were going to love it. Of coarse they were bouncing off the wall wanting to know what it was. Luci pulled in about 5 minutes behind me and brought it in and they went crazy. I thought they were going to tackle him to get to it. Here are a few photos of the two events.

Pizza

I wasn't really wanting to cook tonight and so we decided it was a pizza night. I went online to get the number to order the pizza and decided to order it online. I have never done this before but thought why not, I hate calling down there to be put on hold anyway and then you get a teeny bopper who you have to repeat everything to anyway. So I ordered the pizza and the tracker came up. So I called the kids into the room to see and they thought this was the best thing since sliced bread. They sat there and stared at the screen watching as the time went by and each piece became highlighted. I had to get a photo. On the screen it told us that Nate was bringing our pizza, so when the pizza man got there my nephew, Josh had to ask him his name, and sure enough it was Nate. I am sure that the guy thought we were neanderthals but it really was kinda neat and it kept them busy for a half hour. Here are a few photos of the great event. Don't mind the mess on the desk.

Bitterness

I have been having an inner struggle lately. I am trying to do what is right and not be bitter about some things but at odd moments the bitterness just creeps up and hits me. I do not want to be bitter towards this person but I just start to think about things in the past and things in the present and I just get angry. When I start to think about it, I just have to stop and say a prayer for the person. If I don't it starts to get out of control and take over my life. Do you know what I mean? If I let myself keep the bitterness for one person, it starts to creep into other areas of my life. I have been having a spiritual battle lately and I just have to remember that after the rain comes the rainbow. So when you say your prayers tonight, say a short one for me. Thanks
